What’s Involved in a Taxi Driver Medical?
A taxi driver medical is carried out by a GMC-registered doctor, following the Group 2 medical standards.
Please remember to bring your medical summary along with you to your appointment.
The medical exam usually covers the following:
- A review of your medical history from your records or summary.
- A physical check, including height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, and breathing rate.
- An examination of key body systems, such as the heart, lungs, nerves, muscles, and senses.
- A vision test, including checks for visual sharpness and peripheral vision.
- A urine test (if required by your council).
- An ID check, including verification of your identity and proof of address.
